Childhood

Akimitsu is the only child of a strict, accomplished businessman, head of a hero support gadgets company, and a kind, open-minded teacher. When she was a child, she had a best friend named Saki whose parents were a famous pro hero team and good friends with Aki's parents: Saki looked up to them and wanted to become a pro heroine too, and her biggest dream was to make sure heroes had enough free time, so that kids whose parents were heroes would be able to spend more time with them. Aki had always admired her bestie, who had been her main inspiration for wanting to become a heroine too. The two of them agreed that they’d form a hero team in the future, and they became inseparable ever since.

One day, on Aki’s 7th birthday party, Saki and her family, alongside other people, were invited to spend the day at Aki’s favorite theme park to celebrate: however, the party turned into a tragedy when a group of villains who had pending business with Saki’s parents attacked the park, presumably seeking for revenge. The villains completely destroyed the theme park and harmed most of the people present at the party, including Akimitsu and Saki, who both got stuck under a ferris wheel that had been torn to pieces. Saki’s legs got crushed and she got severly injured, while Akimitsu got away with only a sprained ankle and a few scratches and bruises all over her body: despite her ankle preventing her from walking well, Aki tried her best to free Saki from the spot she was stuck in. As she was about to take her out, an unstable part of the ferris wheel started falling down towards the girls: Saki immediately noticed and used her nature Quirk to manipulate the nearest plants and wrapped them around Aki’s body to throw her away from the spot, taking the hit from the heavy part that fell right on her head.
Akimitsu was shocked and refused to believe what had just happened, crying and shouting out Saki’s name in desperation.

Some heroes eventually came to support Saki’s parents and defeat and imprison the villains that had almost killed them and many other people; the heroes also took everyone to the hospital and tried to take care of the most critical injured ones: however, Saki didn’t make it out alive, as she died from the hit received from that part of the ferris wheel.

It took months for Akimitsu to smile again and go back to living her normal life, and ever since that day, her parents forbade her to become a hero, as they didn’t want her to be involved in a similar accident ever again. Despite that, Akimitsu never gave up on becoming a hero, since it was her and Saki’s biggest dream, so she felt the need to achieve this goal for her best friend too.

When she turned 8, Aki started practicing martial arts in an attempt to strengthen her weak body, using it as an opportunity to learn how to fight: however, a few years later, she got badly injured during an official karate fighting competition, and this was the event that led her parents to stop her from continuing practicing martial arts.

Akimitsu couldn’t do anything to avoid it and she accepted her parents’ decision: despite that, she kept training on her own, never once losing hope and determined to achieve her and Saki’s dream for both of them.

Getting into a hero school

When she turned 14, Aki decided to try to convince her parents to let her attend a small hero school in Fukuoka, promising them that she’d try her best not to get hurt and not to make them worry. It took a lot of convincing, but eventually Aki’s mother decided to give her a chance, despite her father’s disapproval, with the condition that she’d withdraw if she got badly injured again.

The following year, Akimitsu began her first year at the Fukuoka Hero High School, where she immediately made friends with some of her classmates. She went to school by train. The first months of school proved to be extremely useful for Aki, as she learned how to use her Quirk more effectively in battle and she improved her speed and endurance.

First meeting with Keigo

One day at the end of May, while coming back from school, she spotted a boy around her age eating yakitori all alone in a small restaurant not far from the train station. She was intrigued by the guy, as he had two massive red wings that particularly stood out.

After that day, Aki had spotted the same guy more and more often in the same place, eating the same food as well; the boy had apparently taken notice of her presence too, as their gazes crossed increasingly often.

One day, Akimitsu decided to go buy something to eat at that restaurant, using it as an opportunity to approach the young man and keep him some company, introducing herself to him. The blonde man introduced himself as Hawks, as his real name was to be kept secret, and invited her to eat with him. The two of them spent the afternoon together and got to know each other in a very casual and relaxed way, immediately learning that they had one main thing in common: wanting to become a hero. Ever since that day, the two of them began spending the afternoons together, eating at Hawks’s beloved restaurant and walking to the station together for Aki to return home. They gradually got to know each other and became friends. Aki was very happy to have a new close friend who shared her same goal, it gave her even more motivation to get stronger.

The two of them would usually train together when they were done with school and private training, and, on Saturdays, they would hang out in Fukuoka and go to arcades, clothes shops and street food stands.

One day, Hawks asked Akimitsu why she decided to become a hero; despite being hesitant, Aki told him about Saki and how her parents didn’t want her to become a heroine after the little girl’s death; after talking to him about her past, she asked him about his, which he also revealed to her, telling her how the HPSC recruited him when he was only a child and forced him to abandon his real name, Keigo Takami, which he didn’t tell Akimitsu yet. He also told her his current goal: creating a society in which heroes could have lots of free time: this inevitably reminded her of Saki, realizing that her new friend had the same goal as the girl.

Robbery on the train

One day at the beginning of July, after Keigo had accompanied Akimitsu to the train station to go home, a group of 4 villains had a robbery planned on that train run, as it was usually quite crowded and therefore full of goods to steal.

Just a few minutes after the train had departed, an explosion blew up the final wagon of the vehicle, making the train sway and startling every passenger in the process. One of the four villains had immediately reached the driver on the very front wagon and had knocked him out, in order to take control of the train and keep it going.

In the meanwhile, smoke started spreading in some of the back wagons, intoxicating many passengers in the process.
Akimitsu was in one of the central wagons, and as soon as she understood the situation, she immediately ran to the zones where most of the smoke was spreading in order to save everyone from there and take them to the front wagons where the smoke hadn’t reached yet.
She managed to rescue everyone in the back before it was too late, and she ran to the front wagons to make sure the other passengers were also fine: however, as she ran closer to the front ones, three villains appeared before her and the other passengers of the wagon she had reached, ready to steal more belongings.

Akimitsu knew she couldn’t use her Quirk to fight them, as she didn’t have a provisional license yet, so all she could do was stall time to protect the scared civilians in that wagon. The three villains began attacking her, and she tried her best to keep the three of them from harming the others and going further down the train, where the intoxicated passengers she had previously saved were. She managed to stand her ground against them for a while: however, one of them was particularly fast and managed to sneak behind her and deal her a back hit, making her fall to the ground; at that point, another villain was about to use his Quirk on her and electroshock her unconscious, while the other ones proceeded to walk towards the back wagons where the passengers had fled: however, a feather came through one of the windows and moved Aki away from the villain’s attack, while other two feathers hit the back of the other two villains’ necks, making them fall down.

Keigo entered the wagon through a window, ready to fight the villains and help Aki: the man had heard the explosion from afar and had flown back to the station worriedly to see what had happened (and was he glad he did). The train began losing speed, and the three villains started to worry, as Keigo told them he had already taken care of their comrade on the front wagon. Aki’s friend began fighting the villains skillfully, and, as the train stopped, he told her to go check on the passengers and help them down the train, as he’d take care of the villains alone. Akimitsu immediately rushed to the back wagons and began evacuating everyone from the train, helping each of the injured down. Soon the police arrived, and Keigo knocked out every villain for them to arrest.

Akimitsu reunited with Keigo, thanking him for helping her; in return, he complimented her for managing to protect everyone in the train, impressed by her quick acting and calm as she did her job. He later insisted that he’d fly her home, and, despite Aki’s refusal, he took her in his arms and told her to lead the way.

On their way to Hita, Hawks revealed Akimitsu his true name, Keigo Takami, as he knew he could trust the girl by then. She promised him not to tell anyone his real name, and from that moment she started calling him Takami-senpai.

When they arrived to the girl’s house, Aki’s parents immediately rushed to her in worry, as she was very late because of the train accident. In that occasion they met Keigo, who explained how things went, initially worrying Aki’s parents: still, when he told them she had managed to safely rescue every passenger of the train and stand her ground against the villains, they felt very proud of their daughter and thought that maybe she had become strong enough to handle her dream job. Keigo also made quite the impression to Akimitsu’s parents and they thanked him for helping their daughter and safely taking her home. They also offered him to stay for dinner, since it was almost time to eat, and got to know him better on that occasion.

Withdrawal from the hero school

At around January of Aki's first year of school, her class took part in an important hero training, which consisted in a simulated rescue of civilians from an unstable building.
The students would have to participate in teams of three, one team at the time: Akimitsu was teamed up with Saisei Reiki, a timid and insecure boy with a stamina restoring quirk who she was very good friends with, and a girl with an astral body quirk.

Their training started in a very good way: however, at some point, Saisei made a mistake while trying to take a cilivian dummy out of the building, choosing a shorter yet more dangerous path and causing part of the floor to fall down: this created a chain reaction which brought down bigger parts of the building, until one of the floors collapsed entirely. Unfortunately, none of the students had a suitable quirk to handle the situation.
Saisei was too scared to move and risked getting crushed by a part of the falling ceiling: however, before he could end up buried by all the falling rubble, Akimitsu, who wasn't far from him, quickly ran to the boy and pushed him away, getting crushed by the rubble in his place.

Once the teachers took notice of the situation, the training was interrupted and Akimitsu was immediately brought to the infirmary. The girl had been gravely injured and had also passed out, making Saisei feel terrible. The boy, as well as Aki's closest girl friend from the class, Hachi Sasu (with a bee hive quirk), stayed by Aki's side in the infirmary until she regained her senses. Saisei immediately apologized as soon as she woke up, and Hachi started crying in joy and held her hands happily.

In the meanwhile, however, the school had called Akimitsu's parents to tell them about what had happened during the training and had asked them to come and pick up their daughter. Her parents were obviously shocked and extremely worried to hear that and immediately rushed to school. They then demanded to talk to the principal to withdraw her permanently from the school (without even consulting her first), disappointed in their irresponsibility to protect the girl.
Once again, Akimitsu's dream was taken away from her.

Keigo's help

After that event, Aki was spammed with calls from Keigo, who had no idea why she hadn't shown up at their usual spot on that day: in fact, she ended up staying in the infirmary until late in the afternoon because of that accident. At the beginning he didn't give it much importance, but since he knew Akimitsu wasn't someone to just randomly ignore an appointment, he decided to call her; the fact that she never responded ended up worrying him.

When Akimitsu woke up, after being greeted by her friends, she had to deal with the worst situation imaginable: her parents came into the infirmary to take her home, telling her that she wouldn't come back to that school ever again after what had happened. Aki tried to reason with her parents, but it was no use, especially after remembering to have promised them that she's withdraw the school if she got gravely injured, which was the case.
She had no choice but go home, leaving her dear friends and school behind.

Only on her way home she finally checked her phone, realizing that Keigo had been calling her for hours, waiting for her to show up at their usual meeting point. Aki felt really bad for making him worry and leaving him to wait; she didn't want him to worry even more, so she decided not to tell him what happened for the time being.
When she finally arrived home, she decided to call him, telling him that she wouldn't be able to go to school and see him for a while. She didn't mention the reason though, as she didn't want to make him worry.

Even though she was extremely saddened by that turn of events, Akimitsu didn't lose hope. She had come that far, so she wouldn't give up now: she had to fulfill her and Saki's dream, no matter what it took.
However, she had run out of ideas and was currently stuck at home with a broken arm and covered in bruises.

On that night, Keigo couldn't stop thinking about why Aki refused to tell him the reason why she didn't show up: this caused him to start doubting himself and wondering if he had done something wrong.
However, he soon came to the conclusion that maybe she didn't want to make him worry and didn't want to share her problems with him, which would be typical of hers.

Because of that, the following morning, Keigo decided to fly to Aki's house, determined to find out what had happened to her. He knew her parents would be at work, so he wanted to use that occasion to talk to her and convince her to stop keeping all her problems to herself.
He landed on the little terrace of Aki's bedroom and tapped the window, startling her.

The girl was surprised to see his friend there, and she felt very embarrassed to welcome him in that state. After letting him in, the young man immediately noticed her broken arm and multiple bruises, and demanded her to explain what had happened to him.

The girl was forced to reveal everything that had happened, knowing that keeping it all to herself would be of no use in that moment, especially after he flew for hours to come to her house to talk to her about it.

Keigo felt bad for his friend, knowing how important becoming a hero was for her. He thought really hard of a way to help her achieve her dream, but in the end, the most unpleasant idea came to his mind. The only possibility she had, considering her particular circumstances, was to train under the Hero Public Safety Commission with him; however, he knew that meant condemning her to becoming one of their slaves, so he was very dubious about suggesting this. Still, the HPSC would definitely be able to make sure such an accident wouldn't happen again, therefore making Aki's parents tranquil, and she would become so much stronger in little time with private training, making it ideal for the girl.

Keigo finally decided to suggest her to come and train under the HPSC with him, of course warning her about the consequences it would have. He reassured her that he would convince the HPSC to test her abilities and train her if they found her talented. He said he was also willing to prepare her for the test if she needed help.

Aki was extremely grateful to him for wanting to help her, and she accepted in the blink of an eye, not caring about the bad consequences it would have. As long as she could become a hero, she was willing to do anything.

Hero Public Safety Commission

Keigo eventually managed to convince the HPSC to test Akimitsu to show them that she had potential. Thanks to Keigo's tips and training, Aki was able to make a good impression with the HPSC, who particularly appreciated her fighting skills and control over her quirk.

They decided to take her in and give her private training, but before doing so, they talked to her parents, trying to convince them that she would make a wonderful hero; they also assured her safety at all times, since they would always be monitoring her and controlling the environment around her.
Her parents were difficult to convince, but in the end Aki's mother accepted, wanting her daughter to be safe and happy.

The HPSC would need her to move to Fukuoka, where Keigo took his training, and they would be the ones to pay the little apartment where she'd be staying.
Finally, Akimitsu would be able to get closer to her dream again, and it was all thanks to Keigo.

After moving to Fukuoka at the beginning of February, her training with the HPSC began. There were also other boys training with her and Keigo.
The organization prepared a particularly hard training schedule for Akimitsu, since her level was way inferior than everyone else's, having not received their strict training since childhood; however, Aki did her best to raise her level and become more skillful in the least amount of time as possible.

Fighting with Keigo proved to be extremely efficient to increase her already good speed, which raised to almost match the boy's; she also got much better at using her quirk in more versatile ways, combining it with her martial art fighting style.

Falling in love

After several months of training with the HPSC, Keigo and Akimitsu got even closer: you could say they had become each other's best friend, the one they both needed.

Keigo had always had a particular interest in Akimitsu, ever since she first approached him: her sweet and innocent demeanor never failed to make him feel at ease, plus he found her extremely naive side to be funny and easy to mess with.
However, he only started getting into her when she began showing her supportive nature and always tried her best to cheer him up, giving him the strength to keep going even during his darkest days: this brought him much closer to her, and, after seeing how protective of her he had become, he realized he had developed a little crush for her.
When she moved to Fukuoka and started training with him, he had come to terms with the fact that he had fallen in love with her; however, he tried his best to hide it, knowing that the HPSC wouldn't approve of him having a 'distraction' and would probably force her to go away to 'let him concentrate'. He still tried to get closer to her and give her various signals to make her understand how he felt.

As for Akimitsu, she had never fallen in love before: you could say she wasn't even interested in having a boyfriend, since her main focus was becoming a hero; in fact, she only saw Keigo as a good friend at the beginning.
Still, the more time she spent with him, the more she realized just how much his company was special to her, and just how much she cared about him. She only started feeling romantically attracted to him during the first months of training with the HPSC: she initially didn't understand how she felt, because she had never experienced it before, but as time passed, she came to accept the fact that she wanted to be with him.
What made Aki fall for Keigo was definitely how supportive and caring he was with her, but also his strength and courage; she thought he had everything that she lacked, like confidence, badassery and straightforwardness, and she thought that they completed each other very well. She also felt really safe and comfortable around him, and wanted to keep staying by his side and become heroes together.

They both felt the same way, but it took them quite a lot of time to confess their feelings to each other, both because they were afraid of the HPSC's reaction and because they were too scared to ruin their friendship.
After various months, they noticed that things were getting weirder and weirder between them: they'd blush and feel tense around each other, or they found themselves secretly gazing at the other every now and then; the HPSC also started suspecting that they were developing feelings for each other, but they didn't give it too much importance since it didn't seem to influence their training negatively.

One day, at the beginning of December, Keigo decided to finally confess his feelings to Akimitsu, knowing that if he didn't, she'd eventually find out anyway. He was scared that she'd reject him, thinking that she only saw him as a friend, but nevertheless, he mustered up all his courage and asked the girl to hang out with him at the Ohori park during the weekend, planning to confess on that occasion.
The girl, being innocent as she is, had no idea what her friend had planned to do, but she was excited to go to the Ohori park with him since she loved that place.
On that weekend, Keigo greeted Akimitsu with a flower and held her hand for most of their 'date', trying to be as obvious as he could to see her reaction. The girl felt very shy and flustered most of the time, but she enjoyed how affectionate Keigo was with her. Seeing that gave him a little confidence boost.

At a certain point while they were walking, the boy stopped and looked right into Aki's eyes; the girl felt her heart beat very fast and couldn't keep gazing into his eyes without blushing; seeing her act in that way gave Keigo enough confidence to lean in and kiss her on the lips without saying nor thinking anything.
Aki was initially shocked and stiff, as she didn't expect him to actually like her back, but she couldn't help feeling extremely happy and warm knowing that he did. She returned the kiss, which definitely made Keigo calm down and understand that she felt the same way.

After they broke the kiss, they were too shy to look at each other for a while, but after almost a minute, they both turned to face the other and laughed at their own reactions. They were really happy to know that their feelings had been reciprocated, and they finally felt confident enough to say 'I love you' to each other.

They spent the rest of the evening together, eating at a restaurant and enjoying each other's company like never before, without caring about anything else.

From that day on, they became even closer and stronger together.

Debuting as a pro hero

The HPSC eventually found out about their relationship, but, surprisingly, they didn't try to separate them; however, they set strict rules that they were forced to follow, the most important ones being:
-not letting their love get in the way of training and missions
-hiding their relationship as soon as they debuted as pro heroes.
As much as Keigo didn't want to respect these rules, they both accepted, knowing that it was either that or they would be separated.

In December of that year, Keigo turned 18, marking his last months of training before his debut as a pro hero.
The HPSC wanted him to debut as soon as possible, so they could start using him to complete dangerous and important missions.
They also wanted to do the same with Akimitsu: however, the girl was still 17, and she hadn't received even half the training Keigo had, having trained for only one year.
When Keigo finally debuted as the Wing Hero Hawks, the Commission could focus on giving Akimitsu a much more intensive training, wanting her to catch up to the boy as soon as possible, so she could debut at least by the end of the following year.

During that period, Aki and Keigo could see each other less often, only at weekends if the circumstances permitted it.

By the end of the following year, Keigo had already become a top ranking hero, making Akimitsu really proud of him; on the other hand, the girl, despite the intensive training she had withstood, wasn't considered ready yet by the HPSC: the organization wanted her to become even stronger in the field of stealth, so they could make use of her in missions that involved sneakiness.

The girl could only make her debut as the Flashy Hero Kirameki at the beginning of the following year, after two supplementary months of aimed training. Akimitsu, just like Keigo, started her own agency in Fukuoka, and by the nearing end of the year she was already in the top 50.

After her first year as a pro hero, Kirameki had already become pretty popular; so much that she got Mirko's attention, who was mostly surprised by how many cases the young and petite-looking heroine was able to solve; she was also very interested in her quirk and her fighting style. The rabbit hero casually visited Akimitsu at her agency to get to know her better, wanting to train with her sometime. Aki was surprised to see such a strong heroine take interest in her, but she was happy nontheless, and she was interested in getting to know her better too.
The two of them initially saw each other during their free time only to train together, but their relationship soon developed into something deeper: a very good friendship indeed, despite their opposing styles and personalities. Rumi and Akimitsu would then become best friends in the following months.

When Aki turned 21, she managed to reach the top 20; she is now 22 years old and she stands at the number 14 spot.

After becoming a hero and finally fulfilling her lifelong dream, Akimitsu felt complete and happy, knowing that now she could be of use for the society and could help people in many different ways; she finally didn't feel powerless anymore, and she no longer was alone either, as Keigo and her dear friends would always be by her side, just like she would be by theirs.

Heroes vs Liberation Army war
Kirameki was in Fatgum's group with her intern. When Tokoyami took off to find Hawks, Kirameki went with him, worried for the man. When they reached Dabi, Tokoyami took Hawks, and Kirameki held Dabi back to prevent him from harming the two boys. She then told Tokoyami to take Hawks to a safe place, barely managing to control her emotions, and stayed back to fight against Dabi.
Despite putting up a good fight, she ended up losing consciousness from overusing her quirk. It took Dabi a good while to recover from the fight before managing to reach the rest of the group where the battle kept unfolding.

Tartarus escapees
still under construction/to be decided (depending on how the manga continues)
Kirameki woke up at the hospital, where her intern, Flamix, had taken her after the fight was over. Her left forearm was severly burnt and she reported bruises and more superficial burns all over her body, but nothing too serious.
After recovering, she joined the small group of top heroes (made up of Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, Mt Lady and others) to contrast the Tartarus escapees and accompany Midoriya in his journey to keep the city safe and prepare di face All For One.
When Midoriya faced off against Lady Nagant, Kirameki happened to be in the area and came in to help Midoriya fight her. Despite having to fight in the rain, she managed to handle her weakness very well and eventually defeated Nagant with Midoriya.
